Communication technology has changed dramatically since Sharon Hawthorne, ASK’s broker, became a REALTOR®, in 1993 -- when the Sonoma County Multiple Listing Service disbursed property data via a book that was hand delivered to local brokerages monthly. Yet traditional real estate brokerages have continued to operate in essentially the same manner ― spending tremendous amounts on storefront office locations while cluttering the environment with costly image marketing via billboards, direct mail and other wasteful print campaigns. ASK evolved as Sharon’s response to the opportunity to conduct business differently. By leveraging technology, operating via a ‘virtual’ office, and engaging in ecologically sound office practices, ASK operates at optimal efficiency with minimal overhead -- allowing the cost savings to be passed on to consumers when Buying in the form of buyer rebates and as customized commission rates when Selling -- without discounting the quality of services. ASK is not a discount brokerage, but rather an efficient operation passing the benefits of that efficiency on to you. Sharon and associate, Michele Cameron, are pleased to be conducting business in a way that doesn’t needlessly consume energy for heating, cooling, lighting or commuting to and from a storefront workplace. And they are proud to be utilizing green office practices and conscientious marketing methods. ASK commissions are determined by the challenges of the selling project as a whole -- the attributes of the property, and the seller’s willingness to participate in the most essential marketing activity of all: preparing the property to be seen and inspected by buyers and their agents -- rather than being preset by corporate policy. ASK is an independent brokerage, not a franchisee, and not constrained by any corporate system. This allows us greater flexibility, with broker and agent working as a team dedicated to addressing the client’s needs, rather than to meeting production quotas. We are committed to directness and transparency in all our dealings and will never excuse or avoid explanation of an action or a policy by making the mysterious workings of a faceless corporation responsible. ASK is guided by the marketing, negotiation, and management skills of a seasoned broker -- see ASK’s Broker and Broker Profile for details -- working as a team with an experienced and dedicated agent -- see Agent Info for more about Michele. Together Sharon and Michele offer a broad range of skills and experience. Sharon was the just the second agent in Sonoma County to earn Accredited Buyers’ Representative status and has successfully completed the Sonoma County Country Properties Graduate Series twice. She also has significant hands-on experience with renovating vintage homes, has worked as a kitchen designer, and particularly enjoys brainstorming with clients regarding remodeling possibilities. Sign up for Sharon’s newsletter, ASKRealtyOnline news, to receive her monthly insights on lender trends, green tips for homeowners, and current activity in the local real estate market. Sharon and Michele are both Seniors Real Estate Specialists and Certified Eco-Green Real Estate Agents. Both have owned and manage multi- unit investment properties. And both continue to educate themselves on topics ranging from legal and economic issues to environmental concerns -- to assure working with the most current and reliable information. They enthusiastically share skills and knowledge with each other and work collaboratively with clients to achieve an optimal outcome appropriate to each individual. We approach each day with enthusiasm and conviction that doing the right thing matters. Being impeccable with our word, maintaining a win-win perspective, and putting our client’s best interest at the center of each transaction form the touchstone of our professional conduct. Questions?
