ASK Realty operates differently than traditional brokerages — since most real estate business is conducted via phone, at the computer, online, or away from the office in clients' homes or while looking at properties — we find it is unnecessary to consume resources to heat, cool, light, furnish, insure, or commute to and from a storefront workplace.

Using 'virtual office' technology,
working from offices in our homes, engaging in ecologically sound office practices and conscientious marketing methods —ASK operates with optimal efficiency and minimal overhead — allowing us to pass the economic benefits directly on to our clients in the form of rebates to first time home buyers and customized commissions for sellers.

  Sharon Hawthorne & Michele Cameron

ASK is not constrained by corporate policy.   We are an independent brokerage.  This allows us to place client needs first, before production quotas.  No matter which one of us you choose to work with as your agent we support and assist each other in meeting your needs — we work as a team to serve your best interest.

We are committed to directness and transparency in all of our dealings and will never excuse or avoid explanation of an action or a policy by making the mysterious workings of a faceless corporation responsible.

Commissions charged sellers are determined by the challenge of the project as a whole rather than by a predetermined fee structure. We take into account the general price range and attributes of the property, and whether it is a short sale (requiring much more extensive transaction management), plus a seller's commitment and willingness to support successful marketing of the property —conducting recommended pre-inspections, implementing staging advice, arranging for the property to easily be shown.

ASK is guided by the marketing, negotiation, and management skills of a well rounded and seasoned professional. Before becoming a Realtor in 1993 Sharon had worked as a small business consultant, was a real estate investor with significant hands-on experience at renovating vintage homes and country properties, had worked as a kitchen designer and graduated from SSU with a degree in Management. Sharon is committed to continued professional growth for the benefit of her clients and routinely attends classes and workshops on topics ranging from legal and financial issues to environmental concerns. She was the second agent in Sonoma County to earn Accredited Buyers’ Representative status (in 1998), has successfully completed the Sonoma County Country Properties Graduate series twice (12 years apart, to be assured of keeping updated), and graduated in one of the first Certified Eco-Green Real Estate Agent classes in 2008.

Most recently Sharon became certified as a Distressed Property Expert enabling her to to better assist homeowners who are struggling with mortgage payments, and seeking a way out with the least amount of credit damage, by doing a "short sale". With a clear understanding of the selling side's position in short sale transactions she can also more effectively represent buyers seeking to purchase such properties.

Both Sharon and agent associate, Michele Cameron, are Seniors Real Estate Specialists with a love of working collaboratively to assist seniors making a lifestyle change. We offer a unique approach and an exclusive set of services specifically designed to meet the highly individualized needs of those making a move from the traditional single family dwelling to a retirement or assisted living community. Please go to Elder Concierge Services for a description of these specialized services.

We approach each day with enthusiasm and conviction that doing the right thing matters.
Being impeccable with our word, maintaining a win-win perspective, and putting our client’s best interest at the center of each transaction form the touchstone of our professional conduct.
