National Association of Gay & Lesbian Real Estate Professionals

(2011). NAGLREP is a non-profit professional organization dedicated to advocacy for LGBT Fair Housing.

e-PRO Internet Professional

(2010): a National Association of Realtors Certification Program focused on using internet technology and social media to more effectively serve the online consumer with an emphasis on the ethical, professional, and responsible use of web technologies as part of a comprehensive marketing and customer service strategy.

Advanced Certified Green Building Professional

(2010): designed to meet the needs of construction professionals, this course goes deeper into Green Building Remodeling and Retrofit strategies and includes a comprehensive step by step process for evaluating, retrofitting and upgrading existing buildings.

Certified Green Building Professional

(2009): this certification class from Build It Green was a two-day core course focused on the fundamental principles of green building and on using a systematic performance approach to building design and materials, construction methods and operation, landscape design, water conservation techniques, and systems for preserving and enhancing indoor air quality.

Certified Distressed Property Expert

(2009): training in foreclosure avoidance and management of short sales for sellers. These transactions have a lot of extra moving parts, are unpredictable, and are handled very differently than normal sales (made under no duress). Learning more about the options and outcomes available to both the home seller and the lender also better prepared me to successfully represent the buyers of such properties.

Build It Green member

(2008): a professional non-profit membership organization whose mission is to promote healthy, energy and resource efficient, building practices in California and to accelerate the adoption of green building practices — by offering training, tools, technical expertise, and partnership opportunities to key stakeholders including public agencies, builders, developers, architects, contractors, affordable housing advocates, real estate professionals, building materials and fixture suppliers, and homeowners.

EcoGreen Real Estate Agent Certification

(2008): a program designed to serve the interests of the public by promoting a healthier living environments through the education of real estate agents; so that we might share information with our clients about ecologically sound building practices and materials for use in homes and businesses, including energy and water conservation. Since this course I’ve continued to track innovations in the industry and can still offer a more informed perspective than most agents on the merit of various energy saving strategies and techniques.

North Bay Association of REALTORS® Country Property Series, Graduate

(2006): an updated version of the 1994 class listed below — focused on the unique characteristics and red flags associated with rural properties (taken a second time to stay informed regarding new regulatory issues or changes).

Seniors Real Estate Specialist

(2005): training in effectively assisting senior clients through the major financial and lifestyle transitions that can be involved in selling a home for the last time, relocating to a retirement community, or just buying down to something smaller or requiring less maintenance. Accredited Buyer Representative

(1998): a National Association of REALTORS course focused on the specialized skills and knowledge required to provide exceptional buyer representation. I was the second agent in Sonoma Country to receive this accreditation.

Graduate, Sonoma County REALTOR Association’s Country Properties Series

(1994): a study of issues related to water and private wells, easements and access, septic systems, permits and zoning, and seller disclosure obligations unique to country properties.

REALTOR®

(1993): this designation identifies a real estate professional who is a member of the NATIONAL ASSOCIATION OF REALTORS and has pledged to uphold their strict Code of Ethics and Standards of Practice. As an affiliate at local, state, and national level, I have ongoing access the most well-researched industry information and professional development courses available. And, through my membership dues, I provide support for legislation to promote and protect individual property rights.
